Tholpetty is 20 km from Mananthavady, 13 km from Thirunelly and is located on the Kodagu road. Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary or Wayanad Wildlife sanctuary is located on the border of Karnataka state. Jeep Safari is available in this area. This sanctuary connects with Bandipur National Park in Karnataka and Mudumalai sanctuary in Tamil Nadu. This sanctuary inhabited by a variety of large wild animals such as Indian bison, elephant, deer, tiger, leopard etc. Peafowl is commonly seen in this sanctuary.
