Tara Tarini Temple History
As per the Legend, Sati daughter of Daksha Prajapati married Lord Siva against her father’s will. Daksha thought of insulting Lord Siva for which he decided to perform Yagna inviting all Devas and excluding Lord Siva. Sati who came to know about her father’s intention reached her maternal home to advise her father. Daksha insulted Sati in front of the guests. Angered Sati immolated herself in the Yogagni. Lord Siva raised high and instructed Veera Bhadra to kill Daksha. Veera Bhadra along with Kali and other Siva Ganas reached Yagnashala and destroyed Yagna and Killed Daksha. Lord Siva on collecting Sati’s corpse performed Dance of Destruction. Lord Vishnu sent his Chakra and made Sati’s body into pieces.
