Sudarshana Pasupatha Homam in Srisailam is performed daily. This puja is performed in a yagashala outside the Srisailam temple. The puja lasts for about 4 hours. Two to three priests will perform this ritual. Sudarshan, the divine discus, protects the family members from enemies. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. The puja starts at 7.30 a.m. The Sudarshana mantra will be combined with the Pasupatha mantra during this ritual. We don’t combine this puja with others. The auspicious tithis are Panchami, Shashti, Dasami, Dwadasi, and Purnima. This puja will be performed for your family members.

We offer online puja services for those who are unable to attend. The puja will be livestreamed through the video call. One should take a head bath before the puja. We perform Prokshana at the end. Puja Dress Code

• Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
• Ladies: saree.
• We respectfully ask all devotees, regardless of age, to avoid wearing T-shirts and jeans.

Instructions to be followed

• Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
• If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
• One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
• Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.

Kindly note that rooms in Srisailam will not be allotted for unmarried couples and singles. The room can be arranged near the yagashala at an extra cost. We supply the puja articles required for the ritual. During this ritual, Naivedyam will be offered to the deity. We usually perform 2 to 3 pujas in a day. The yagashala is located behind the Srisailam temple.
