Sage Atri and His wife Anasuya stayed here in this place. Goddess Parvati, Lakshmi and Saraswati thought of testing Anasuya Chastity. Lord Siva, Vishnu and Brahma in the form of Brahmins approached Anasuya for alms. They laid the condition that they can only accept alms when offered without clothes. Anasuya sprinkled water on these three Brahmins and turned them into babies. Anasuya fed these babies in no clothes. The three Goddess requested Anasuya to restore their original forms. Lord Siva, Vishnu and Brahma blessed the couple.
