When to Perform Shastipoorthi?
After entering into the 60th year, Janma Masam, Janma Paksham, and Janma Nakshatram day. It can be performed even on Janma Nakshatra day if the Chandrabalam is good. Marriage is not part of Shastipoorthi. A pooja date will be suggested by the astrologer.
Why is Shastipoorthi performing?
60th year marks the completion of a half-cycle in the human’s life. As per the Shastra, a person can live up to 120 years. This pooja will be performed to pacify Ugraratha. Ugraratha disturbs a person’s health, wealth, and family structure as soon as he enters his 60th year. The first 6 months will be crucial during this time. This Homam Ugraratha Shanthi Pooja is also called by Shastipoorthi.
