Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Sahasra Chandra Darshan Pooja in Tirumala is performed daily. The puja lasts for about 4-5 hours. Two to three priests will perform the ritual. The word “Sahasra” means 1000, and “chandra darshan” means full moon periods. This puja should be performed when a person completes 1000 full moon periods. The 80th marriage is called Sathabhishekam, or Sahasra Purna Chandrodayam. This puja is performed in a yagashala behind the main temple. Sathabhishekam should be done after completion of 80 years.
We provide online puja services for those who are unable to attend. The puja will be livestreamed through the video call. This puja should be performed on your birth star day. It can also be performed on an auspicious day. Tirumala is a Nitya Kalyana Kshetra, and this puja can be performed in any month. An astrologer can let you know the auspicious day for this ritual. The puja starts at 7 a.m. It is advisable to carry an extra set of clothes for this ritual. We perform Avabrutham or Kalasabhishekam at the end. We supply the puja articles for this ritual.
Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
- Ladies: saree.
- Regardless of age, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from dressing in jeans and T-shirts.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
Sahasra Chandra Darshan Pooja in Tirumala
This puja can be performed even for singles. A person doesn’t need to be married to perform this ritual. In Tirumala, this puja is performed individually. The yagashala or mandapam is spacious enough to accommodate 20 members. We also perform Shastipoorthi and Bhimaratha Shanti poojas in Tirumala. Kindly note that darshan is not part of this ritual. For booking, we need the couple’s details. We provide a proper seating arrangement for the elderly couple.
