Rukmini Temple Dwarka, History, Darshan and Route info

As per the Legend, Lord Krishna and Rukmini went to Ashram to invite Sage Durvasa to Dwarka. Sage laid a condition that he will visit Dwarka only when his Chariot will be pulled by Lord Krishna and Rukmini. Agreed Krishna and Rukmini started their return journey. While on their way to Dwarka, Rukmini felt thirsty. Lord Krishna dug the Earth with his ring and water flowed out. Rukmini quenched her thirst. Sage Durvasa angered as Rukmini quenched here thirst prior to Guru. Angered sage cursed Rukmini to stay away from Krishna for 12 years. He also added that Rukmini remains here and stay thirsty. Hence, Rukmini Mata mandir is away from Dwarkadish Temple.

The devotees used to offer water in this temple on the name of their ancestors.

Dress Code: Any decent outfit.

Temple remains open on all days.
