Pitru Dosha Pooja in Kashi is performed on the Ganga River ghat. The puja duration will be 3 to 4 hours. Typically, three to four pandits will be performing this ritual. This puja is performed to appease Pitrus (ancestors). Kashi is known as the Dosha Nivarana Sthala, and performing this puja will yield the best results. Pitru Dosha can be found at the birth of the Kundali. An astrologer can tell you the severity of the Dosha after checking the horoscope. This puja is advisable for those who are not performing their rituals on time. Pitrus, or ancestors, consistently bestow good fortune upon their clan. - One should refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food for three days before the puja.
- A woman can perform this puja after the fifth day of her menstrual cycle.
- If there is a death in the family, you can perform this puja after six months.
- A Brahman can perform this puja on your behalf.
