Nava Chandi Homam in Srisailam is performed in a Yagashala near the main temple. The puja duration is 10 to 12 hours. Typically, 11-13 pandits will perform this ritual. During this puja, the 13 chapters of the Devi Mahatmyam will be recited. Sapthashti means 700 mantras will be recited during this puja process. Maha Chandi is the universal mother. She is a combination of the goddesses Mahakali, Lakshmi, and Saraswati. This powerful Yagna removes obstacles and brings blessings of success.   4. A husband cannot perform this puja if his wife is pregnant.
  5. If there is any death in the family, then this puja can be performed after six months.
  6. One from the family can perform this puja for the whole family.
  7. A Brahman can perform this puja on your behalf.
