Narayana Bali Pooja in Srisailam is performed daily. The puja lasts for about 3 hours. Two priests will perform this puja. Narayana Bali Pooja can be performed any day after the eleventh day of the ritual. If there is an unnatural death in the family, Narayana Bali Pooja should be performed. Even if someone has left the house and you don’t know where they are, you should still perform this puja. An unnatural death means that the departed soul will not attain moksha or join the rebirth cycle. An unsatisfied soul will not leave this earth, thus causing pain and agony to the existing family members. This puja is performed on the banks of the river Krishna in a yagashala. Those who are planning to perform a complete ritual should perform Dasa Dhana. Godhanam (offering a cow) to a Brahmin is advisable.

A Brahmin will perform the ritual on your behalf. The puja procedure remains the same. This online process is typically available to people who are staying far away. The puja starts at 8.30 a.m. Srisailam should be reached a day in advance. This puja is not performed anywhere near the Srisailam temple. A single person or a couple can perform this ritual. A son cannot perform this puja if his father is alive. A Brahmin can perform the ritual on your behalf. One should take a head bath before and after the puja. When a person leaves the home for a long period, then this puja should be performed to remove the dosha.
Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
- Ladies: saree.

Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.

If you intend to do this puja after the eleventh-month ritual, you can include the names of all your ancestors. However, if you plan to perform this puja before the eleventh-month ritual, you should do it only for a specific person. This puja includes a homam ritual. One should discard the clothes worn during the ritual. It is advisable to perform this puja on an Amavasya day. Pitru Paksha days are highly preferred for this ritual.
