Moksha Narayana Bali Pooja in Gokarna is performed outside the main temple. The puja duration is 3 hours to 4 hours. This puja is performed on all days at Gokarna. An elder from the family should perform this puja. A person cannot perform this puja if his father is alive. A woman can perform Sankalpam and other rituals, whereas Pindadan will be performed by the Brahman. A son at any age can perform this ritual if his father is not alive. This ritual is performed in a Yagashala outside the temple. Moksha Naryana Bali Pooja is a one-day puja. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. One should take a head bath before the puja.

Narayana Bali Pooja Timings in Gokarna
- Normal days: 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
- Amavasya days: 5.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
- Pitru Paksha days: 5.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
- Mahalaya Amavasya day: 4.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
Puja Dress Code
- For gentlemen, the dress code includes a white dhoti and either a shirt or a kurta paired with pajamas.
- Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
- Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.
Puja Instructions to Devotees
- One should refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food for three days before the puja.
- You have to stop consuming non-vegetarian food for another eleven days after the puja.
- A woman can perform this puja after the fifth day of her menstrual cycle.
- A husband cannot perform this puja if his wife is pregnant and is in the 6th month or above.
- If there is any death in the family, then this puja can be performed after six months.
- One family member can perform this puja on behalf of the entire family.
- A Brahman can perform this puja on your behalf.
- A pregnant lady can perform this puja before the sixth month of her pregnancy.
- For another forty-one days, you should not accept any kind of offer.
