Narayan Bali Puja in Varanasi: Cost, Timings, and Booking

Narayan Bali Puja in Varanasi is performed in a Yagashala outside the main temple. This puja is performed to appease the departed soul. Moksha Narayana Bali Puja is performed if there is any unnatural death in the family. Anyone from the family can perform this puja. An unsatisfied soul will not leave this Earth, thus causing disturbances to the existing family members. This puja guides the unsatisfied soul to the rebirth cycle, or Moksha. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. This puja should be performed with utmost devotion and sincerity. We recommend that this puja be performed within the first year following death. The puja duration will be 3 to 4 hours. Typically, 3 to 4 pandits will be performing this ritual.

What is unnatural death?

  1. A person died from a snake bite.
  2. Committed suicide by consuming poison, jumping out of a building, hanging, etc.
  3. A person died from a road accident, a fire accident, drowned in water, etc.
  4. If someone kills another person with a weapon, it is considered a homicide.
  5. A person leaves home for many years, and it is not certain whether he is alive or not.

Puja Dress Code

  • For gentlemen, the dress code includes a white dhoti and either a shirt or a kurta paired with pajamas.
  • Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
  • Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.

Puja Instructions to Devotees

  1. One should refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food for three days before the puja.
  2. You have to stop consuming non-vegetarian food for another eleven days after the puja.
  3. A woman can perform this puja after the fifth day of her menstrual cycle.
  4. A husband cannot perform this puja if his wife is pregnant and is in the 6th month or above.
  5. If there is any death in the family, then this puja can be performed after six months.
  6. One family member can perform this puja on behalf of the entire family.
  7. A Brahman can perform this puja on your behalf.
  8. A pregnant lady can perform this puja before the sixth month of her pregnancy.
  9. For another forty-one days, you should not accept any kind of offer.

Moksha Narayan Bali Puja in Varanasi

At Varanasi, these pujas are performed in a Yagashala near the Ghat. It is advisable to discard the dress that you wore during the puja. A female can perform Sankalp and other rituals. This puja will address any unnatural death. At Varanasi, these pujas are performed daily. We offer online puja services for those who are unable to attend the puja. Moksha Narayan Bali Puja is a one-day puja. We advise you to perform this puja either on Amavasya days, Pitru Paksha days, or Mahalaya Amavasya days. Mahalaya Amavasya, which falls during Pitru Paksha, is the most preferred day among all these.
