Naga Pratishta Pooja in Rameshwaram is performed daily. The puja duration is 3-4 hours. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. Mostly, this ritual will be performed for marriage and pregnancy delays. Those who are preparing for competitive exams do perform this puja. Naga Pratishta Pooja can be performed in a day or two. In a two-day puja, the puja starts at 5.30 p.m. on the first day, and the serpent idol installation is on the second day. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children.

One should take a head bath before the puja. Sarpa Sukta Homam can be performed along with Kala Sarpa Dosha nivarana. Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.

Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
Naga Pratishta Pooja in Rameshwaram
Naga Pratishta (serpent idol installation) is performed daily. Typically, three to four priests will be performing this puja. We will provide all the necessary puja articles. An astrologer can let you know whether the Naga Pratishta is required or not. The Naga Pratishta pooja includes the Sarpa Dosha Nivarana pooja as well. This puja is advisable if you have killed a snake, destroyed its residence or eggs, or caused any other harm. You can perform this puja even if the dosha is not there. Auspicious days are Naga Panchami, Ashlesha Star, Shasti Day, Skanda Shashti, and other auspicious days.
It is advisable to perform Vastra Daanam for the pandits who do the puja for you. A bronze utensil should be donated, and Annadanam can be performed after the puja. Here in Rameswaram, the idol will be installed under a peepal tree (Aswatha Vruksha). The couple who are planning for a pregnancy-related medical treatment are advised to perform this ritual. The serpent idol will be 1 to 1.5 ft in height.
