Muthanga, which is 16 km from Sulthan Bathery is close to Karnataka Border. Muthanga sanctuary is on the NH22 i.e Mysore to Sulthan Bathery highway. Muthanga is the second Largest Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala. This sanctuary stretches on 345 sq.km of the area. This sanctuary is inhabited by wild animals Leopard, Tiger, bison, Elephant, Spotted deer, wild boar etc are commonly seen here. Elephant rides are organised by the forest department. This sanctuary connects with Bandipur National Park in Karnataka and Mudumalai sanctuary in Tamil Nadu.
