- Head Straight on Kanakapura – Sangama Road
- Kanakapura – Sangama Road to the Sangama Falls.
- Sangama Falls to Mekedatu by Theppa (Boat)
Sangama is the amalgamation of 2 holy rivers Arkavati and Kaveri. Water flow through the gorge with 10 mt in width. Visitors used to visit this place for scenic beauty between the rocks. It is not advisable to get closer to the flow. It is not accessible during Rainy season as the River flows high and can’t be reached easily. Entry allowed during normal days. Best time to visit this place is during Nov and Dec months.

- The nearest Railway station is at Kanakapura which is 49 km away.
By Road
- This place can be reached by Theppa from Sangama which is on the other side of the river. The direct bus is not available to this place.

DO NOT VISIT MEKEDATU, NO MATTER HOW BEAUTIFUL THE PLACE IS. THE VILLAGERS OF THAT DISTRICT ARE LOOTERS. AS SOON AS YOU ENTER THE DISTRICT, ONE OR TWO PEOPLE WILL START FOLLOWING YOU ON BIKE. THEY WILL STOP WHEREVER YOU WILL STOP AND IF THEY FIND RIGHT PLACE THEY WILL COME VERY NEAR TO YOUR VEHICLE AND WILL SLIGHTLY TOUGH YOU. EVENTHOUGH YOU ARE NOT DRIVING TOO FAST(IN OUR CASE, WE WERE LITERALLY VERY SLOW TO TAKE PICTURES) THEY WILL CLAIM:
– THAT YOU TRIED TO KILL THEM.
– THAT BECAUSE OF YOUR SUDDEN BREAK THEIR VEHICLE GOT DISBALANCE AND THEY FELL.
– THAT YOU TRIED TO HITE AND RUN.
LATER THEY WILL FIGHT WIT H YOU, CALL ALL THEIR CRIMINAL FREINDS AND VILLAGERS TO WINTNESS THEIR NUISANCE AND WILL ASK MONEY FROM YOU. THEY WILL TRY TO SNATCH YOUR KEYS AND ASSUALT YOUR. IT’S NOT ATALL A SAFE PLACE TO VIST. I’M SURE THEY MUST HAVE KILLED MANY VISITORS AND FRAME IT AS ACCIDENT. POLICE WON’T HELP INSTEAD WILL TAKE MONEY AND DIGNITY FROM YOU. CHECKPOST NEAR FOREST CROSSING IS SUPPOSE TO HELP VISITORS FROM THESE CRIMINAL BUT YOU WONT GET MUCH HELP FROM THEM EITHER.
