Matru Dosha Nivarana in Srisailam is performed daily. The puja lasts for about 2-3 hours. Two priests will perform the ritual. Matru dosha occurs when someone ignores their mother. - Ladies: saree.

Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
