Markandeya Theertham Sri Kalahasti

Markandeya Theertham Sri Kalahasti is located at Sri Kalahasti Hills. Markandeya Maharshi used to perform Shiva Pooja at this place so theertham got it’s name. It is the place where Markandeya Maharshi setup his Ashram. Marakandeya Maharshi used to carry fresh water from this Theertham for  daily Shiva Pooja. Whoever takes bath here are blessed with good fortune.

Best time to visit this falls is during the months of Nov-Dec-Jan.

It is an hour and half trekking from Panasa Kona which near Sri Kalahasthi.
