It was declared as a reserve forest in 1908. Later this RF converted to a game sanctuary in 1916. This sanctuary was opened for visitors in 1937. It was declared as the wildlife sanctuary in the year 1950. In the year 1974, it was declared as the national park. In the year 1985, it was declared as the world heritage site by UNESCO. Tiger reserve in the year 2006. This park is inhabited with one-horned Rhinos. This park is inhabited with Tiger, Elephants, Wild buffaloes, Sambar. etc. 479 species of birds, 42 species of reptiles, 15 species of turtles, 42 species of Freshwater fish were recorded here. It is estimated that 100 migratory reaches here for reproduction.

  1. Northern Range, Biswanath
  2. Burapahar, Ghorakati
  3. Western Range, Bagori
  4. Central Range, Kohora
  5. Eastern Range, Agoratli

Jeep Safari Booking: 7:00 am  – 10:00 and 1:30 pm – till sunset.

Elephant Safari Booking: 5:30 am – 7:30 am and 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Best Time to visit: After Jan 2nd week as grass levels will come down and clear visibility will be there.
