Horsley Hill Station

Horsley Hill Station History, Accommodation and Route info

The wooded hills got their name from W.D.Horsley, a British Collector of Kadapa District, who discovered the place in 1870 and in subsequent years spent his summer here. He even constructed a large cottage but there was no access by road.

In 1958 a road was laid and the cottage on top of the hill was used for the summer sojourn of the Governor of Andhra Pradesh for many years. You can drive through the groves of teak, sandalwood, eucalyptus, Gulmohar and mango and other luxuriant emeralds green vegetation.
