Here, we will explain the detailed procedure for booking the Gokarna Pitru Dosha Pooja online. Pitru Dosha Pooja is performed to remove Pitru Shaap. An elder from the family should perform this puja. It is advisable to perform this puja on an Amavasya day. The puja duration is 3 hours and 30 minutes. This puja is performed to appease the ancestors’ souls. Thila Homam is performed to remove Pitru Dosha. The Thila Homam count starts at 1008 and goes up to 10008 Japa Sankhya. Typically, 5 to 7 Brahmins will be performing this ritual. The higher the dosha severity, the higher the Japa Sankhya.

Puja Dress Code
- For gentlemen, the dress code includes a white dhoti and either a shirt or a kurta paired with pajamas.
- Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
- Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.
Puja Instructions to Devotees
- One should refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food for three days before the puja.
- You have to stop consuming non-vegetarian food for another eleven days after the puja.
- A woman can perform this puja after the fifth day of her menstrual cycle.
- A husband cannot perform this puja if his wife is pregnant and is in the 6th month or above.
- If there is any death in the family, then this puja can be performed after six months.
- The entire family can participate in this puja with just one family member.
- A woman who is expecting can do this puja before the sixth month of her pregnancy.

Gokarna Mahabaleshwar Temple, also called Dakshina Kashi, is known for Dosha Nivarana Poojas. This puja should be performed with utmost devotion and sincerity. One should take a head bath before the puja. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. An astrologer can let you know the Thila Homam count or Ahuthis. Ten percent of Japa Sankhya should be performed during Ahuthis.
