This national park stretches over an area of 1412 Sq Km. This park is inhabited by 300 species of birds, 36 species of reptiles. From the recent census ie. in 2015 it was recorded as 523 lions live in this forest.  This area is reserved to protect endangered Asiatic Lion which was 20 in 1913.

Gir Safari will not be available from 16th Jun – 15th Oct.

By Air

  1. The nearest airport is at Rajkot which is 158 km away. Ahmedabad airport is 348 km away

By Train

  1. This place can be reached from Junagadh which is 55 km away.  The nearest railway station is at Junagadh city.

By Road

  1. This national park can be easily reached from Junagadh city by Taxi.
