Chintaman Ganesh temple History
Self-manifested Lord Ganesh Temple in Ujjain. Temple is easily reachable from Indore and Bhopal. Temple dates back to 11th and 12th centuries AD. This temple was built during by Paramaras Kings and later renovated by Maratha Kings. Lord resides here with his consorts Siddhi and Buddhi. Jatra will be held On every Wednesday during Chaitra Month. During the festival, the main deity will be decorated with flower and natural colours, sandal paste, vermillion and leaves.
As per the Legend, Mata Sita while on their way back to Ayodhya thought of worshipping Ganesh at his place. She ordered Laxman to fetch some water for Pooja. Laxman went around in search of water but could not find any pool nearby. Laxman then created the water pool by piercing the Earth with his arrow and gathered the water for the Pooja. This water pool is called by the Laxman Bawadi (where Bawadi means Pond in Hindi). The present form of the temple was of 250 years old.
It is believed that worshipping Lord Ganesh at this temple will be relieved from the fear of sudden death. Devotees throng temple during Chaturthi as special poojas will be held at the temple.
As per the scientific analysis, the rays falls on the main deity during Chaitra month will relieve devotee standing nearby from all Allergies.
