<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bada Mahadev Temple History</h2>



<p>This temple cave temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The entrance to the temple is 15 ft long and pass thru the narrow caves.</p>



<p>As per the folklore, The Demon King Bhasmasura did penance for Lord Siva and got the boon that he can turn anyone into ashes by placing the hand&nbsp;on their head. Lord Siva escaped from Bhasmasura while he tried he keep his hand on Lord Siva&#8217;s head. Lord Siva took refuge in a cave. Lord Vishnu in the form of Mohini approached Bhasmasura and Killed the Demon. It is said that Lord Vishnu killed the demon in this Caves.</p>



<p>The devotees used to take the holy dip in the pond located inside the cave.</p>



<p>Temple remains open on all days</p>



<p>Best Time to visit: Oct-Jun.</p>



<p>Temple thronged with hundreds of devotees during Maha Shivaratri day, Nag Panchami and Karthik Masa days. This temple is 11 Km from Pachmarhi station.</p>



<p>Not much oxygen in the caves so it is not advisable for infants, children under 10 years and senior citizens.</p>

<p>Altitude: 1326 mt above sea level.</p>



<p>Distance from Pachmarhi station: 11.2 Km.</p>



<p>From the inscriptions, it is&nbsp;known that this temple was built during the reign of Sangram Shah of Gond Dynasty.</p>



<p>Total Distance to uphills: 4 Km (Around).</p>



<p>Total trekking time: 3 hours&nbsp; &#8211; 3 hours 15 mins to climb up and 1 hour 15 mins to climb down.</p>



<p>Best Time to visit: Oct-Jun moths.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Chauragarh temple History</h2>



<p>As per the Legend, The Demon King Bhasmasura got a boon from Lord Siva that he can turn anyone into ashes by placing his hand on their head. Bhasmasura on getting his wish fulfilled thought of testing it on Lord Siva. Lord Siva escaped from the demon and stayed here. It is believed that Lord Siva left his Trishul while leaving this place.</p>



<p>The devotees used to offer Trishul when their wish is fulfilled, it is kind of thanksgiving. Hundreds of Trishuls offered by the devotees were seen outside the temple. Thousands of devotees reach the temple with the Trishul, which weighs 151 Kg (around) and 15 ft in height.</p>



<p>Visitors start trekking down by 3:30 pm as it gets dark by the time they reach the bottom.</p>



<p>Important festival days: Maha Sivaratri, Karthik Masa days. Temple remains open on all days.</p>

<p>As per the Legend, The Demon King Bhasmasura did penance for Lord Siva for years. Impressed Lord Siva blessed Bhasmasura with a wish that he can turn anyone into ashes by placing his hand on their head. Bhasmasura thought of testing his wish on Siva itself. Siva while trying to escape from the demon passed thru Tilak Sindur and reached the present place. While passing thru the Caves he lost his Jata (hair). This cave remains open on all days.</p>



<p>There are two natural ponds inside the cave, one is hot and another one is cold.</p>



<p>Temple will be thronged with devotees during Maha Sivaratri day and Karthik Masa days.</p>

<p>Pandav Caves Pachmarhi History, Timings, Route info, Images</p>



<p>Best Time to visit: Oct-Jun months. These caves remain open on all days.</p>

<p>Visiting Hours: 8:00 am &#8211; 5:00 pm.</p>



<p>Darshan Dress Code: Any decent outfit</p>



<p>Darshan duration: 15 to 20 mins.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pandav Caves Pachmarhi</h2>



<p>As per the Legend, Pandava brothers stayed here for sometime after their exile from the Kingdom. The biggest cave is said to be of Bhima. Each of these caves was named after the Pandava brothers.</p>



<p>As per ASI, that the cave paintings date back to Gupta period during 9 &#8211; 10th Century AD. Buddhist monks made these monks as their living place during this time. Even stupa laid during the same period.</p>



<p>These caves are under the maintenance of the Archaeological Survey of India. The beautiful garden was created at the cave&#8217;s entrance.</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>The nearest airport is at Bhopal which is 120 Km away.</li></ol>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">By Train</h4>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>The nearest railway station is at Pipariya which is 47 Km away.</li></ol>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">By Road</h4>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>The direct bus is not available to these hills. </li><li>Private Taxi can be hired from Bhopal or Pipairya Railway stations.</li></ol>

<p>Bee Fall Pachmarhi Timings, Entry fees, Route Info</p>



<p>Best Time to visit: Oct-Feb months. Flow minimal during Summer Season Mar-May month.</p>



<p>Open on all days for the tourists. This waterfalls from 150 ft (approx) height and creates a scenic view.</p>



<p>1 Km trek down to reach the fall. 250+ Steps climb down to reach the base. Not advisable for senior citizens and heart patients. 30+ steps to view the falls from the entry point. It takes 10 mins to climb down and 25 mins to climb up.</p>



<p>Tribals used to collect honey from the honeycombs near falls, hence the name Bee Falls.</p>



<p>Entry Pass: Have to purchase at Bison Lodge. Gypsy can be hired for the full day along with Guide.</p>



<p>Advisable to carry food items if planned to stay here for long hours. This place will be crowded during weekends and holidays.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">How to reach Bee Fall Pachmarhi?</h3>



<p>This fall is 10 Km from Bus station and can be reached by Gypsy. The road to falls is narrow. It takes 45 mins (approx) to&nbsp;reach the&nbsp;place. 100 m walk forest&nbsp;from the drop point to the falls entrance point. Falls is visible even from this place.</p>

<p>Best Time to Visit: Oct-Jun.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Apsara Vihar</h3>



<p>Vintage point to see the valley and mountains.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Silver Falls or Rajat Prapat Waterfall</h3>



<p>350 mt high waterfall. Usually, takes 2 days trekking to reach the bottom of these falls. As the water flow resemblers silver colour, it is called as Silver Falls as well.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Fairy Pool&nbsp;(Apsara Vihar Waterfall)</h3>



<p>During the British Ruling, British women used to take bath here. Due to their colour complexion, locals used to called fairies. Hence the name Fairy Pool. It takes an hour jungle trek to reach Fairy Pool.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Bison Lodge Museum</h3>



<p>Britishers used to stay here during their visit prior Independence.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Pandav Caves</h3>



<p>It is believed that Pandavas stayed here for sometime after exile from the Kingdom. 5 Caves were named after Pandava brothers.</p>

<p>The highest point in Satpura Range. Sunrise and Sunsviewpointint. It is at an altitude of 4429 ft.</p>

<p>Best Time to Visit: Oct, Nov and Dec months. The flow will be high during this time. Dec and Jan months will be heavily crowded.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Handhi Kho</h3>



<p>The natural hill rock formation which resembles Shape of a Bowl.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Reechgarh</h3>



<p>A natural rock formation. It is said that Giant Bear used to live here, hence the name.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Rajendra Giri</h3>



<p>Sunset and Sunrise Viewpoints from the hilltop.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Gupt Mahadev Temple</h3>



<p>This temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The entry is narrow.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Jata Shankar</h3>



<p>As per the Legend, Lord Siva blessed Bhasmasura with a boon that he can turn anybody into ashes by placing the hand on their head. Bhasmasura thought of testing the wish on Lord Siva. Lord Siva passed thru this cave while escaping from the demon.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Chauragarh</h3>



<p>Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. The entry point is from the cave followed by 12 Km walk uphill to reach the temple.</p>



<p>Other Interesting places are&nbsp;Satdhara and Priyadarshini Point</p>
