Bhoga Nandishwara Temple History, Timings, Route, Darshan details

This temple is dedicated to Lord Siva and Goddess Parvathi. It was built by Nolamba rulers followed by Rashtrakuta kings. This temple was built in the 9th Century around 810 AD.

Gangas, Cholas, Hoyasala Kings and Vijayanagara Kings contributed in renovating this temple.

Vasantha Mantapa, Thulabhara Mantapa and Temple tank (Pushkarini) was built during the reign of Vijayanagara dynasty. It is said that River Pennar originates from this temple tank.

Nellikai Basavanna Idol is of 10 ft long and 6 ft height. It was carved during the reign of Chola dynasty. There is Nellikai tree in front of the Basvanna, hence the name.

It is said that Swamy Ramakrishna Paramhamsa performed penance here.

Temple Timings : 7:00 am – 7:30 pm.

Timings might differ on festival days.

Best Time to visit: Nov-May.

Dress Code: Any decent outfit.

Darshan waiting time: 20 – 30 mins.
