Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Ati Rudra Homam in Srisailam is performed daily. This puja lasts for four to five days. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. This puja is performed in a yagashala located outside the Srisailam temple. During this ritual, 14,641 avartanas will be recited. This involves chanting 169 mantras in a single Rudra avartana. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. It is advisable to take a head bath before the puja. On the first day, one can join the video call to perform sankalpam. Ati Rudra Homam will be performed on the final day. During this ritual, Rudra, an incarnation of Lord Shiva, will be invoked.
We offer online puja services for those who are unable to attend. The puja will be livestreamed through the video call. We request the concerned person to join the video call to perform Sankalpam. One Athi Rudram is reciting 11 Maha Rudrams. Hence, in Ati Rudram, 14,641 Rudrams, 14,641 Namakams, and 1,331 Chamakams are added. Simultaneously, 121 experienced pandits perform the ritual in 11 Homa Kundas. The puja starts at 7.30 a.m. This puja removes negative energy and blesses the family members with abundant energy.
Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
- Ladies: saree.
- Regardless of age, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from dressing in jeans and T-shirts.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
Ati Rudra Homam in Srisailam
One Rudram equals the recitation of one Namakam and the chanting of a Chamakam. The Ekadasa Rudram consists of eleven Namakams and appends an Anuvaka of Chamakam at the end of each Namakam. Laghu Rudram is the chanting of 11 Ekadasa Rudrams. One Maha Rudram is the chanting of 11 Laghu Rudrams. One Ati Rudram is the chanting of eleven Maha Rudrams, 14,641 Namakams, and 1,331 Chamakams. “Ati Rudram” means the recitation of 14,641 Rudrams. During the ritual, 121 priests perform the chanting and homam on each day.
Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children. You can ask an astrologer to find out the auspicious day for this puja. Even newborn babies can join this puja. This puja will be performed for your family members. We don’t perform group pujas or samuhika pujas. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age.
