Amrutha Pasupatha Homam in Srisailam is performed daily. The puja lasts for about 2-3 hours. Two priests will perform this ritual. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. During this ritual, 169 Rudra mantras will be combined with the Amrutha Pasupatha mantra. First, we should recite a mantra from Rudram. Followed by the Trimabkam mantra. Then, we should recite the Trimbakam mantra, followed by the mantra from Rudram.

An astrologer can let you know the auspicious day for this ritual. Performing this puja on your birth-star day is advisable. Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children.

Instructions to be followed

Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
