Tirumala:
Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy along with His consorts, was taken out in a procession on the finely decked Pushpaka Vimanam on the sixth day evening of Ongoing Navarathri Brahmotsavam.
This unique Vahanam is made out of coconut tree leaves (Tenkaya Mattalu and Keethulu) , which is held as a substitute to Rathotsavam in view of the Adhika Masa Navaratri Brahmotsavams which come once in three years.
“Pushpaka Vimanam is aimed at offering recreation to the deity who has been busy and tired through the last five days with several processions and rituals. The vimanam is made of coconut leaves. It is 20 feet high, 10 feet wide and 10 feet long. Pushpaka Vimanam is made of 500 kg flowers of seven to eight varieties ( which includes lilies), from S.V. Gardens and horticulture. Florists from Sri Rangam, Tamilnadu joined this event in decorating Pushpaka Vimanam. They spent three day and nights in preparing the wonderful Vimanam, using 30 Coconut tree leaves, 150 Keethulu (leaf like inner part in coconut tree)” .
