Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Maha Mrityunjaya One Lakh Jaap in Srisailam takes 3-4 days. Ten priests will recite mantras for three continuous days to complete the Japa Sankhya. One hundred and twenty-five thousand Mrityunjaya Jaap usually takes more time. A Brahman can recite 3000 mantras in a day for 3-4 hours. With ten priests, we can complete 30,000 Japa Sankhya. Four days are required to complete 125,000 Japa Sankhya. Anyone can perform this ritual regardless of their dosha. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. Unmarried couples cannot perform this puja together. Sankalp will be performed on the first day and homam on the last day. A simple Mrityunjaya homam usually takes 3 hours. Two priests will perform this ritual. Kindly note that all these pujas are individual and are performed for your family members.
We offer online puja services for those who are unable to attend. The puja will be livestreamed through the video call. One should join the video call to perform sankalpam. This puja is performed in a yagashala located outside the Srisailam Temple. On the first day, you can either participate in the video call or come in person to perform sankalpam. We usually perform Jaap in the evening hours, as everyone will be available for mantra recitation. You can participate in this ritual or watch it online. On the last day, your presence is advisable either online or offline. This puja is advisable for those who have Mrityu dosha in their kundali. The number of mantras determines how long the puja lasts. One should take a head bath before the puja. Those who are living outside India can also perform this online puja. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their dosha.
Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
- Ladies: saree.
- Regardless of age, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from dressing in jeans and T-shirts.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap Procedure in Srisailam
Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap is performed daily. It is advisable to perform this puja on your birth star day or on an auspicious day. Shravan and Karthika Masam are highly preferred for this ritual. All your family members can participate in this puja. We supply the puja articles required for this ritual. An astrologer can let you know the auspicious day for this ritual. We also perform only Jaap without a homam, if required. For a bigger count, please let us know ten days in advance to make the arrangements. Even parents can perform this ritual on behalf of their children. Newborn babies can participate in this puja. We also perform ten lakh jaap if required.
