Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. Two priests will perform this ritual. If the birth occurs during Jyeshtha Nakshatra (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th pada), Nakshatra Shanti puja should be performed. Ganda Moola Nakshatra comprises Jyeshtha Nakshatra. The Scorpio sign includes the fourth pada of Vishaka Nakshatra, all four padas of Anuradha Nakshatra, and all four padas of Jyestha Nakshatra. As for the Scorpio sign, the Moon exhibits strong behavioral features. Therefore, emotions and personal traits will negatively impact a person’s life.
If the child is born in the first pada, the mother suffers; in the second pada, the father has difficulties; in the third pada, the siblings have difficulties; and in the fourth pada, the individual is affected. If a child is born in the first 48 minutes of Jyestha Nakshatra, troubles will arise. This puja can be performed even after the wedding. It is believed that this dosha might cause a spouse’s death. It is advisable to perform this puja before the wedding. If a child is born with dosha, it is advisable to perform this puja before the third month. Before remarrying, widowers may even perform this puja. One should take a head bath before the ritual. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. We don’t suggest fasting for the elderly and children. A single person or a couple can perform this puja.

Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
