Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Maha Lingarchana in Hyderabad is performed daily. The puja takes about 3-4 hours. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. Even newborn babies can perform this puja. The puja starts at 7.00 a.m. Typically, two to three priests will be performing this ritual. During the ritual, we have to prepare 365 Shivalingas with puttamannu (anthill clay). This puja is performed for the family’s well-being. Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children. During the ritual, mantras will be recited, followed by abhishekam. A single person or a couple can perform the ritual. This puja will be performed individually. Maha Lingarchana will be performed on the temple premises. Those who intend to carry out this puja ought to notify us well in advance. We have to procure anthill clay to prepare Shiva Lingas.
It usually takes 1 to 1.5 hours for preparation. After preparing and arranging lingas in an order, the puja begins. It usually takes another 2 hours to complete the puja. Those who are planning to perform this ritual should take a head bath before the puja. One should perform this puja with utmost devotion and sincerity. Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
- Ladies: saree.
- We respectfully ask all devotees, regardless of age, to avoid wearing T-shirts and jeans.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
Maha Lingarchana Procedure in Hyderabad
During Maha Lingarchana, the Shiva Lingas are arranged in Kailasa Yantra Prastaram. These 365 Shivalingas represent each day in the year. An astrologer can let you know the auspicious day for this puja. As part of this ritual, Devatha Avahaam will be performed. These Parthiva Lingas should be made with puttamannu (anthill clay). It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. We don’t suggest fasting for elderly people. The auspicious months for this puja are Shravan and Karthika Masa.
