When all planets are positioned between Rahu and Ketu, then Kala Sarpa Dosha occurs. The severity of Kala Sarpa Dosha varies depending on the planetary positions of Rahu and Ketu. This puja is performed for you and your family members. You can perform this puja on any day. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. The puja duration is 3 to 4 hours. One should perform this puja with utmost devotion and sincerity. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. One should take a head bath before the puja. A complete Rahu and Ketu Japam followed by homam will take around 4 to 5 hours.
Rahu Japa Sankhya is 18,000, and Ketu Japa Sankhya will be 7,000. Tharpanam should be performed after Japa, which is 1800 for Rahu and 700 for Ketu. After Tharpanam, 180 Japa should be performed for Rahu and 70 for Ketu during the Homam. Typically, three to five pandits will be performing this puja ritual. Puja Dress Code
- For gentlemen, the dress code includes a white dhoti and either a shirt or a kurta paired with pajamas.
- Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
- Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.
Puja Instructions To Devotees
- One should refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food for three days before the puja.
- A woman can perform this puja after the fifth day of her menstrual cycle.
- If there is a death in the family, you can perform this puja after six months.
- A Brahman can perform this puja on your behalf.
Rahu Ketu Pooja Procedure in Hyderabad
Rahu Ketu Pooja is performed in the temple premises. It is advisable to perform this puja twice a year for the best results. We advise performing this puja either on Sunday or Tuesday. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. A simple Rahu Ketu pooja usually takes 1 to 2 hours. We perform Rahu Japam alone if required. This is an individual puja for your family. We don’t perform Samuhika pujas.
