Ayush Homam in Srisailam is performed outside the main temple in a Yagashala. The puja duration is 3 to 4 hours. This homam is performed to increase longevity. One should perform this homam with utmost devotion. It is advisable to perform this ritual on the Janma Nakshatra day. Anyone can perform this homam regardless of their age. It is advisable to fast while performing this homam. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. One should take a head bath before the puja. It is advisable to carry an extra set of clothes, as abhishekam will be performed with the Kalasa Jalam. This puja is advisable for newborn babies as it removes any dosha associated with health.
