Tirumala is one of India’s most popular places of worship. This location is referred to as Kaliyuga’s Vaikuntam. The Swayambhu image of Lord Venkateswara is located here at Tirumala. He has a million names. Vaishnavites revere him as Srinivasa. He is known as Lord Venkateswara by the Telugus. In common speech, they refer to Him as Konda Meeda Rayudu, which means the Lord who Lives on Seven Hills, and Edukondalavadu, which is pronounced with an “e” like an elephant. He’s known as Timmappa or Tirumalappa among the Kannadigas. The people of Tamil Nadu will love calling him Malayappa or ELUMALAIVASA. He is well-known as Lord Balaji in the north.
Today Tirumala Free Darshan Timings
- Free Darshan starts at 8.30 am and ends at 11.45 pm
- The average waiting time during the weekdays is 6 to 12 hours, and it is 14 to 18 hours during the weekends.
- The waiting time will be high, i.e., 24 to 36 hours during holidays and long weekends.
- Daily, 15,000 slotted Sarva Darshan tokens will be issued at the counters in Tirupati.
- An Aadhar card is mandatory to avail of slotted free Darshan tickets.
- 10,000 free Darshan tokens will be issued at Alipiri Bhudevi Complex and they are meant for those who walk by the Alipiri steps
- 5,000 free darshan tokens will be issued at Srivari Mettu, which is meant for the devotees who reach Tirumala by the Srivari Mettu path.
- Those who did not get free darshan tickets can reach Tirumala and wait in compartments for their darshan.
- Darshan waiting time will be long for Sarva darshan (free darshan).
- Restrooms (toilets) are available in compartments. The cleaning staff will be working continuously to maintain hygiene.
- Luggage and footwear can be deposited at the Darshan Line entrance and collected after Darshan from PAC IV.
- Carrying electronic gadgets is prohibited for Darshan.
- Carrying infant food is allowed for Darshan.

- Wearing shorts, a lungi, or other fancy dresses will not be allowed.
