As per the Legend, When a Jat farmer was ploughing his field, it plough struck at one place. The farmer and his wife unearthed the Idol and found that it is Lord Hanuman. The couple and villagers worshipped the Idol as Balaji. Lord Hanuman instructed the Asota Village chieftain to send the Idol to Salasar. Lord Balaji appeared in the dreams of Mohandas and told him that he will be reaching Salasar in the morning. The Idol was handed over to Mohandas as instructed by the Lord in the dream. The idol was installed in 1754 in Salasar on Shukla Navami day. Hanuman is having the moustache in this Idol. This temple will be thronged with Lakhs devotees on Chaitra Purnima and Ashwin Purnima. The original temple was built with Mud, which later rebuilt to the concrete structure.
