“GODDESS OF WEALTH” TAKES RIDE ON FIVE HOODED VASUKI – CHINNA SESA VAHANAM / CHINNASESHA VAHANAM

Tiruchanur, 19 November 2014: The Goddess Padmavathi Devi has taken a celestial ride on Chinna Sesha Vahanam on the evening of the first day of Brahmotsavams on Wednesday.

Chinna Sesha Vahanam is the symbolic representation of the serpent king Vasuki. It has a significant place in Hindu mythology as it is this serpent king which is tied as rope to Mandhara Parvatham to churn milk ocean in the famous episode of “Samudra Madhanam” which originated many holy things including Kalpavriksha, Iravatha and even Goddess Lakshmi.

Vasuki is a five hooded serpent and is also called “Chinna Sesha Nagu” which is favourite of both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.

Goddess Padmavathi, who is believed to be the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi takes pleasure ride on “Chinna Sesha” Vahanam along the four mada streets encircling the main temple at Tiruchanoor as a part of the annual brahmotsavams on Wednesday evening between8pm to 10pm.

TTD top brass officials and a huge number of pilgrim crowd and locals took part in this celestial procession of Ammavaru and received Her divine blessings.
