Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings The 60th marriage in Tirumala is performed in a mandapam. The puja duration is 4 to 5 hours. Typically, two to three pandits will be performing this ritual. 60th marriage, Shastipoorthi, or Shastiapthapoorthi, is performed after the completion of 60 years. This ritual will be performed in the 61st year. Shasti means sixty, and poorthi means completion. An astrologer can let you know the auspicious day for this puja. You can perform this puja on any day at Tirumala. At Tirumala, we don’t have to check for the auspicious day and time. This puja starts at 7 a.m. and will be completed before noon. It is believed that performing this ritual at Tirumala will remove all Graha Dosha. We advise the couple to wear traditional dress for this puja. At your convenience, Avabrutha Snanam or Prokshana will be performed.
Items to be carried by the couple
- Thirumangalyam (Mangala sutram)
- Old saree, Dhoti, and Towel
- New saree, New Dhoti, and a towel for Muhurtham
- Two garlands for Muhurtham
- Two garlands for exchange
Puja Dress Code
- For gentlemen, the dress code includes a white dhoti and either a shirt or a kurta paired with pajamas.
- Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
- Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.
Puja Instructions To Devotees
- One should refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food for three days before the puja.
- If there is a death in the family, you can perform this puja after six months.
60th Marriage Procedure in Tirumala
At Tirumala, we perform this ritual for a particular family. We don’t perform Samuhika or group pujas at Tirumala. A simple mandapam that can accommodate 20 to 30 members will be blocked during this puja. Food arrangements will be charged additionally. It is advisable to perform this puja on your birth star. Even a single person can perform this puja. Mangalya Dharana will be performed after Avabrutha Snanam. It is not mandatory to perform Mangalyadharana. One should perform this puja with utmost sincerity and devotion. We offer online puja services for those unable to attend. We courier the puja prasadam to their house address.
