As part of Brahmotsavam ,Snapana Tirumanajanam is performed at Srinivasa Mangapuram Temple
The three-day annual ‘Pavitrotsavam’ at Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Srinivasa Mangapuram got off to a spiritual start on Sunday ie. Oct 19.
Temple priests conducted ‘homam’ in the specially prepared ‘yagasala’ and performed ‘Snapana Tirumanajanam’, later in the evening to the processional deity of Lord Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy and His consorts amidst chanting of verses from the scriptures.Snapana Thirumanjanam’ a mangalasnanam to cleanse the presiding deities’ idols.Priests performed ‘abhishekam’ on the presiding deities with holy water, milk, curd, honey, coconut water, sandal, turmeric, tulasi leaves and panchatheertham, amidst Vedic chants.
The objective behind performing ‘Pavitrotsavam’ every year in the temples is to seek the pardon of the deity for any act of commission and omission committed inadvertently by the priests, by the temple authorities or by the visiting pilgrims and restore the purity in its original pristine form.
