Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Timings, History, Darshan and Puja
As per the Legend, Lord Sri Krishna took birth here in the Prison cell for Devaki and Vasudeva, where they were imprisoned by his Uncle the Kinga Kamsa. It is believed that Lord Krishna and Balarama Krisha took bath in the River Yamuna after killing the Demon King Kamsa.
It is said that Mahmud of Ghazni had stolen 4 mt tall Lord Krishna Golden Idol during his invasion.
The present form of the Temple was of 60 years old which got completed in 1982. This temple was built by Mahamana Pandit, Madan Mohan Malaviya and JK Birla association. Lord Krishna Idol was installed in the Garbha Griha.
Special celebrations will be held on Krishna Janmashtami, Holi and on Vasanta Mausam. This temple is located on the banks of the River Yamuna. Daily 8 times Aarti will be performed to the River Yamuna. The devotees are allowed to watch the Aarti with no extra cost.
There are 25 Ghats built across the River Yamuna. As per the Legend, River Yamuna got boon from his brother Yamadharma Raja that brother and sister who takes bath in the River Yamuna should be blessed with Heaven.
