Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Shani Homam in Hyderabad is performed in a Yagashala. This puja is performed to minimize the negative effect of Shani Dasa. Typically, four to five pandits will be performing this ritual. The puja duration is 4 to 5 hours. Shani Homam includes Japam 19,000, with Tharpanam 1900 and Homam 190. One pandit cannot perform this puja, as Japam needs four to five pandits. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. One should perform this puja with devotion and sincerity. One should take a head bath before the puja.
Shani Mahadasa, with Antardasa, will have an impact based on the planet’s positions. Shani Mahadasa with Budha and Guru will yield favorable results. In contrast, Shani Mahadasa with Kuja, Ketu, Ravi, Rahu, and Chandra will result in negative effects. Shani Mahadasa with Sukra and Shani Antardasa will yield mixed results. Shani Mahadasa will be there for 19 years. This puja will minimize the malefic effects during Shani Mahadasa, Sade Saath, and Arthashtama Shani Dasa. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja.
Puja Dress Code
- For gentlemen, the dress code includes a white dhoti and either a shirt or a kurta paired with pajamas.
- Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
- Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.
Puja Instructions To Devotees
- One should refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food for three days before the puja.
- A woman can perform this puja after the fifth day of her menstrual cycle.
- If there is a death in the family, you can perform this puja after six months.
- A Brahman can perform this puja on your behalf.
Shani Homam Procedure in Hyderabad

Shani Japam alone takes 4 hours, followed by the Homam. A simple Shani puja might take 2 hours and 30 minutes. In contrast, a complete Shani Homam might take 4 to 5 hours with five pandits.
