This reserve is located at the convergence of Eastern and the Western Ghats.

It was estimated that 800 – 1000 Elephants and 60-70 Tigers were recorded in this reserve.
This reserve is inhabited by Tigers, Elephants, Gaur, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Barking Deer, Black-naped Hare, Black Buck, Leopard, Hyena, Jackals, Wild dog, White Backed Vulture, Civets etc.
Best time to visit: Nov-Apr.
Tourists inflow high during Nov, Dec, Jan, Mar and Apr months.
Tiger reserve remains closed during monsoon season. ie. Aug 1st week to November 1st week. Bookings open from Oct 2nd week for Nov month Ecotourism activities.
