Sarpa Shanti Homam in Rameswaram is performed in a Yagashala. The puja duration is 3 to 4 hours. Typically, two to three pandits will be performing this ritual. This puja removes Kala Sarpa Dosha. At Rameswaram, this puja is performed daily. We don’t perform group pujas. Sarpa Shanti Homam, along with Naga Pratishta puja, is performed to remove the complete Naga Dosha. - Gents: dhoti (white) and shirt or kurta and pajama.
- Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
- Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can perform this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after the 11th-month rituals.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 41 days after the puja.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol three days before the puja.
