Nakshatra Shanti Homam in Srisailam is performed in a Yagashala. This homam is performed to remove any dosha at the time of birth. Puja Instructions To Devotees

  1. One should refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food for three days before the puja.
  2. A woman can perform this puja after the fifth day of her menstrual cycle.
  3. A pregnant woman cannot perform this puja.
  4. A husband cannot perform this puja if his wife is pregnant.
  5. If there is any death in the family, then this puja can be performed after six months.
  6. One from the family can perform this puja for the whole family.
  7. A Brahman can perform this puja on your behalf.

This homam should be performed on the Janma Nakshatra day. For newborn babies, this puja should be on the 27th day, as it will be the same Nakshatra. This puja removes any Balarishta Dosha. Nakshatra Japam usually takes long hours for 10,000 counts. If it is a 1000 count, then it can be performed on the same day. For 10,000 counts, it usually takes two days. Homam can be performed for a one-day puja, and Nakshatra Japam counts 1000. For a two-day puja, the Nakshatra Japam counts 10,000, followed by homam.
