Naga Pratishta Pooja in Kalahasti: Cost, Benefits, and Procedure. This is a one-day puja, which takes 4 to 5 hours. Performing this puja in Srikalahasti will yield the best results.

Hindu texts hold that Rishi Kashyap, a son of Lord Brahma, had four wives; one of them produced Devatas (Gods), another produced Danavas (Demons), still another produced Garudas, and the fourth one produced Nagas (Snakes). Another reason snakes are revered in Hinduism and referred to as Naga Devatas is because, with his 1000 heads and resting place for Lord Vishnu, Shesh Naga is the most significant Naga. Among other well-known Nagas are Anant, Vasuki, Padmanabha, Shankhpal, Takshak, and Kaaliya.
