The word “Kadali” means “banana tree,” and “vivaham” means marriage. During this puja process, the boy is married to the banana tree. In some places, this puja is called Tulsi Vivah. The tree will be cut up and duly thrown into the sea following the marriage. Parents’ presence is not mandatory for this puja. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. One should take a head bath before and after the puja.
