Ganapathi Homam Procedure, Costs, Benefits, and Dates
Importance of Maha Ganpathi Homam
Mahaganapathi Homam fits all people perfectly. Lord Vigneswara sits in the Mooladhara chakra. The subtle body is made up of chakras, which stand for various states in which consciousness might reside.
Greater chakras indicate greater states of consciousness, while the Mooladhara chakra represents the material and physical world. Ganesha, who is in the Mooladhara chakra, is responsible for well-being and material wealth.
Ganesha also opens the Sushumna nadi, which is located in the Mooladhara chakra. The subtle body’s nadis are pathways for energy flow. Sushumna Nadi is a microcosmic representation of many Lokas (eternal worlds) and all the beings that inhabit them. A person’s self-consciousness is typically restricted to the material world, or the Mooladhara chakra.
One becomes aware of other realms of awareness and the beings that occupy them, such as different Lokas and other gods, when self-consciousness ascends through the sushumna nadi through various chakras. One’s self-consciousness must ascend through the Sushumna nadi and reach higher levels of existence to experience different gods. Ganesha controls one’s spiritual encounters with other gods and Lokas as the guardian of the Sushumna Nadi.
It makes sense that the Shastras advise praying to Ganesha before any other deity.
Ganesha’s homam is particularly helpful to any spiritual seeker since he rules both the material world and the entryway to the higher spiritual worlds of existence. It safeguards one’s material interests while promoting spiritual development.

When should I perform Ganapathi Homam?
Before launching any project, venture, or new beginning, it is usual to do a Ganesh Pooja and ask for his blessings. Those who aspire for success in their first marriage, business ventures, careers, education, housewarmings, and even naming ceremonies should perform the Ganapathi Homam. This is especially true for individuals who are negatively affected by Kethu Dosha. Kethu’s planetary overlord is Lord Ganesha. Therefore, to appease Lord Ganesha and undo the negative consequences of the Dosha, one needs to do the Ganapathi Puja or Ganapati Homam. This homam is performed daily at Kanipakam Temple.
