Pothuluri veera brahmendra swamy brahmamgari matam kadapa

Brahmamgari Matam is located in village Kandimallayapalle, which is 60 km from Kadapa Town. This is the place where Sri Veerabrahmendra Swamy who is famous for predictions, also called as ‘Nostradamus of India’.

He is one of the great saints, who born in 1610 C.E in Kadapa. Brahmam, whose prophecies, knows as Kala Gnyanam ( The knowledge of Time) have been a popular in Andhra since the premodern period. Veera Brahmam’s teachings and sainthood practices also represent the growing intersection of Hinduism and Islam. He preached anti-caste principles.

Brahmamgari matam was built in the year 1693 C.E after Sri Veerabrahmendra Swamy’s enty into his Jeeva Samadhi. Later devotees constructed Brahmamgari matam.

Legend of Narapura Venkateswara Swamy Temple

It appears that a devotee Narapuraiah had a dream one night in which Lord Sri Venkateswara appeared and told him about the idol located on the bank Penna river. Narapuraiah with the help of other villagers was able to found the idol on the banks Pennar river near Jammalamadugu Town.

Narapuraiah installed this Idol to the North of the town in a sand heap.  From then on this temple named as Narapura Venkateswara Swamy Temple.

As mentioned in the inscriptions on the temple walls, the present temple which was consecrated by Narapuraiah was then renovated in the year 1919 with the help of local devotees.

This temple is under the control of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in the year 2008.

Annual Brahmotsavam will be performed during the months of Vaisakha. Rathotsavam is a popular event during Brahmotsavam, where thousands of devotees participate in pulling the Ratham.  All poojas are performed as per pancharatra agama sasthram.

Legend of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Pendlimarri

Lord Narasimha Swamy one of the incarnations of Lord Maha Vishnu, in which the Lord manifests in the form with the head of a lion and the body of a man to kill the demon-king Hiranya Kashyapa. After killing the demon, couldn’t control his own wrath and like an unstoppable nuclear bomb, kept exploding, burning and destroying the universe till Shiva, the god of destruction, had to intervene at the request of the devas and stop Narasimha.

It is believed that they did Abhishekam to Lord Narasimha Swamy with water brought from Veyi Nuthala Kona to control his anger.

Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Pendlimarri History

Even after this episode, this place holds the same anger to overcome this, Narasimha Swamy Idol was installed during the times of Harihara and Bukka Raya ( 1336 – 1404 A.D).

Later this temple was built by Sri Krishna Deva Raya from Vijayanagara dynasty during 16th century A.D.

Legends associated with Mukthi Rameshwaram Proddatur

While on the way to Ayodhya, Rama decided to halt their journey here as sun is setting. Sri Rama wants to offer prayers to Siva at the early hours, to get rid of his sin in Killing Ravana. Ravana is a Brahmin so he needs to get rid of Brahmatti Dosham (Killing a Brahmin).

Sri Rama orderere Hanuman to bring Siva Linga from Kasi. Hanuman who left to Kasi to bring Siva Lingam could not return within pooja time. To perform pooja within time, Rama had installed Siva Linga and performed Abhishekam, which he made out of Sand. This siva Linga is called ‘Saikatha Lingam’ , a sand sculpture representation of Lord Siva.

On return, Hanuman felt bad that he could not fulfill his master’s request. To please Hanuman, Rama installed Siva Linga brought by Hanuman, little away and opposite to Saikatha Lingam. From then on this Kshetram is popular as ‘Ramalingeswara Swamy Ksehtram‘ and ‘Hanuman Kshetram‘ . As Ravana was killed bySri Ram, he attained ‘Mukthi’. Hence this place is also called as Mukti Rameswaram.

As Sri Rama consecrated the Saikatha Lingam before the sun rise and hence place is called proddaturu, later changed to Proddatur. Proddaturu is derived from two words, Proddu and turu. In telugu, Proddu means time after Sun Rise, turu means village.

According to inscriptions written on the walls, this temple was built by Sri Krishan Devaraya in 16th century.  Raja gopuram is a five tiered construction with beautiful carvings.

Narasimha Swamy Temple Peddamudium History

Peddamuidum is a village in Jammalamadugu Mandala, Kadapa District. Peddamudium region is also part of Sathavahana dynasty. Later Cholas and Vijayanagar Dynasty took control over this region. It is believed that the temple was constructed during the reign of the Vijayanagar Dynasty in the 16th century.
