Marriage costs Rs. 500 for one couple (Only enrollment charges)

Required Documents for Chikka Tirupati Marriage

• The bride and groom must carry their Aadhaar cards and School Certificates. Their parents must carry their Photo ID proofs as well.
• Marriage does not include Food and Other Arrangements. No Hall will be allotted. Marriage will be performed in an open area.
• Marriage Halls can be booked well in advance, as spaces are limited. Rooms will be allotted prior to booking the hall, i.e., 4–6 months in advance.
• Food arrangements, seating arrangements, and Pooja Samagri are self-arranged by marriage parents and groom parents. relatives must be available for the marriage.

Chikka-Tirupati Marriage Procedure

• The Bride must be 18 years and above.
• The Groom must be 21 years and above
• Bride and Groom’s Aadhar Cards Photocopies
• Bride parents and Groom parents Photo Id proofs
• Only Hindu-arranged marriages are allowed inside the temple
• Only Thalikettu is allowed inside the temple.
• Pre and Post wedding rituals have to be arranged outside the temple.
• Advance booking is required for the marriage enrollment at Devasthana.
• Mantap and other Decorations are not allowed inside the temple.
• Marriage registration is not performed at this Devasthana
• Only Marriage receipts will be issued at the temple after marriage.
• This receipt can be used for the marriage registration at their hometown.
• Love marriages without parental acceptance are not allowed inside the temple.
• It is believed that people getting married at Chikka Tirupati will be blessed with strong bonds.

Chikka Tirupati History

Legend date back to Dwapara Yuga, Agni Deva had severe stomach ache after accepting ghee for 100 years continuously. He then prayed Lord Brahma fo the remedy. Brahma suggested him to perform Kandava Dahanam as the forest has natural herbs. Agni stepped back as Indra’s friend Takshak was living in this forest with his family. He then approached Lord Krishna and Arjuna who offered him the protection. With their help, Agni raised himself high and burnt the forest. Indra tried hard to defend the snake Takshak but all his efforts went vain. Takshak who escaped with minor injuries cursed Agni to lose his divinity. Agni then prayed Lord Siva for the help. Lord Siva suggested him to perform penance for Lord Vishnu. Agni relieved from the curse and installed Lord Vishnu and named Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy.

This temple was built in Dravidian during the reign of Chola Kings in 11th Century A.D.

Annual Brahmotsavam will be celebrated in a grand during Sravana Masam. The uniqueness of this temple is that Lord Venkateswara’s Abhayahastham is pointing downward. Devotees used to offer hair which is similar to Tirumala Temple.
