<p>Best time to Vist Butterfly Park: 9:00 am &#8211; 3:00 pm</p>

<p>It takes 4 hours to cover all places in the park.</p>



<p>Food joints are available in the park.</p>



<p>Best time and Season to visit: Before 11 am and after 4 pm during Summer and From 9 am &#8211; 3 pm during Winter season.</p>



<p>Zoo Park occupies the space of 731.88 Ha and was established as a mini zoo in 1972. The mini zoo transformed to Ecological park in 2002. This park is located within the city and is reachable from all places.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dodda Alada Mara</h2>



<p>Also called Big Banyan Tree which spread on 4 &#8211; 5 km. It stands 2nd largest in India. Bangaloreans used to reach this place by cycling. This tree is of 400 &#8211; 500 years old.&nbsp;Approx 28 km from Bangalore and 8 km from Bangalore &#8211; Mysore National Highway.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Muthyala Maduvu</h2>



<p>The waterfall is 45 km from Bangalore. The flow will be high during the rainy season and minimal during the summer season. Muthyala means Pearl and Maduvu mean Pool in Kannada. A simple tourist destination with a mildly vegetated small hillock and a small waterfall.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Magadi Ranganatha Swamy</h2>



<p>As per the Legend, It is Sage Mandavya who installed Lord&nbsp;Paschima Venkatachalapathy and performed strict penance at this Kshetra. Hence the name, Mandavya Kshetra. The main deity in this temple is facing West, Hence the name Paschima Venkatchalapathy. Magadi is also called as Dakshina Tirupathi which means South Tirupathi.</p>

<p>Temple is known for Ashelsha Bali Pooja, Sarpa Samskara Pooja, Kuja Shanti Pooja and Navagraha Pooja. Pratyeka and Samuhika Poojas will be performed at this temple. Devotees can stay at Yatri Nivas, which costs Rs.300 for one day. The nearest Railway station is at Makali Durga.</p>

<p>Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. Temple is located in the foothills. &nbsp; The &#8220;Bhoga Nandeeshwara&#8221; shrine located in the North was built during the reign of Banas in 9th Century AD, later renovated by Cholas in 11th century AD, Hoyasalas and Vijayanagara Emperors.</p>

<p>Haidar Ali started the fort construction later completed the work by Tippu Sultan. The fort called by Nandi Durga.&nbsp;The fort was built on 90 acres of land and is 4851 feet above the sea level.</p>

<p>Island at Shivasamudra splits the River Cauvery into two streams. River Cauvery falls from a height of 75 mt into a deep gorge and creates two streams Gaganachukki and the Bharachukki, which are 1 km apart. These two streams pass through the rocky hills and create&nbsp;a scenic beauty for the visitors.</p>



<p>View at Gaganachukki resembles a large horsetail which drops from a&nbsp;height of 90 mt. Hydroelectricity plant was established down the falls in the year 1906. Visitors are not allowed to go near the falls.</p>



<p>Barachukki which is 1 km apart falls from a height of 70 mt forming several streams through the wide rocky formations establishing superb natural beauty. Visitors will have a close view of the falls by Theppa (Boat).&nbsp;This falls surrounded by hill forests of the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Places nearby Shivanasamudra Falls</h4>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Somanathapura Chenna Kesava Temple. Janardhana and Venugopala Swamy Idols which is of 2 feet height is also located in the main shrine. Temple is 28 km from the falls.</li><li>Temples at Talakadu which are 28 km away.&nbsp;The western Ganga rulers (350 A.D &#8211; 1050 AD) were in power at Talakad for nearly 500 years. It came into hands of Chola Kings. During the final years of the 10th Century and was with them till 1116 A.D, when the Hoysalas captured the region. In the mid-14th Century A.D, the Vijayanagara&nbsp;kings took the control, after whom it came into Wodeyars ruling.</li><li>Bheemeswari Adventure and Nature camp</li><li>Mysore is another interesting place to visit which is&nbsp;118 km away.</li></ol>

<p>Sangama is the amalgamation of 2 holy rivers Arkavati and Kaveri. Water flow through the gorge with 10 mt in width. Visitors used to visit this place for scenic beauty between the rocks. It is not advisable to get closer to the flow. It is not accessible during Rainy season as the River flows high and can&#8217;t be reached easily. Entry allowed during normal days. Best time to visit&nbsp;this place is during Nov and Dec months.</p>

During Summer, Visitors can get into the water and can spend time here. Information boards at the falls display the presence of crocodiles. Not advisable to go deep during summer as well.</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>This place can be reached by Four or Two-wheelers. The Direct bus is not available to the falls.</li></ol>

<p>Chunchi Falls Kanakapura, Best Time to Visit, Food and Route map</p>



<p>Distance from Bengaluru: 83 km</p>



<p>Journey Time to the falls: 2 hours 30 mins.</p>



<p>Entry Timings: 8:30 am &#8211; 5:30 pm</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Route map to Chunchi Falls</h2>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Bengaluru to Kanakapura.</li><li>Continue on Kanakapura &#8211; Sangam Road for another 15 km, where arch can be seen on the left side.</li><li>From the arch, it is 5 km drive inside.</li><li>1 km easy trekking to the falls.</li></ol>



<p>It falls on the way to Sangama and Mekedatu. It is the rivulet of River Arakavati which joins Cauvery at Sangama. Water flow through the rocky hills with mesmerising beauty.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Accommodation and Food</h3>



<p>There is no decent accommodation near to the falls. Small Village is 3 km from the falls. It is advised to carry own food as there are no stalls near the falls. Accommodation is not available at Village as well.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Best Time to Visit:</h3>



<p>The flow will be high during Rainy season ie. Oct, Nov and Dec month. Almost dry during Summer Season. Minimal flow during Summer little trekking required reaching falls. It is not advisable to go near the falls.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Other places near Chunchi Falls</h2>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Sangama which is 12.5 km away. Sangama is the merging point of River Arkavati with Kaveri.</li><li>Mekedatu is 4 km from Sangama. It falls on the other side of the river and can be reached by Theppa.</li><li>Fish Camp is another interesting nearby</li></ol>
