Bhitarkanika National Park Timings, Boating, Entry fees
This is the second Largest Mangrove Eco forest after Sunderban. This park stretches over an area of 600 Sq. Km. This park is inhabited by birds Navrangi, Open-billed, Sea Eagles, Egret Heron, Kites, Sand Pipers, Darters, Whistling Teals, Sea Gulls, Kingfisher etc. Commonly seen reptiles are Salt Water Crocodiles, Monitor Lizards etc. It is estimated that 1600 – 1700 crocodiles are living in these waters.
Lakhs of Olive Ridley Sea Turtles lay their eggs twice in a year at Gahirmata seashore.
Best Time to visit: Oct-Jun.
Peak Season: Dec-Feb. The crowd will be high during this time.
Park Closing Dates: 1 May – 31 Jul.
