Annapurna Temple Varanasi History, Timings, Pooja details
As per the Legend, Once Lord Siva said Goddess Parvati that the whole world is in Illusion in which Food for living beings is Maya. Angered Goddess Parvati removed the food from the Earth. Living beings on the Earth suffered a lot with the No food. Goddess Parvati made a kitchen in Varanasi to remove the hunger. Lord Siva realised the mistake and praised the Goddess for teaching a good lesson. Goddess Offered food to Lord Siva, Hence the name Annapurna.
Another interesting story associated with this temple, that Goddess Parvati unknowingly closed the eyes of Lord Siva which put the whole universe in dark. For this unknowing act, the colour of Goddess Parvati became dark. To regain her original form she offered food with a golden pot in Varanasi.
Temple is located on Dashashwamedh Road and is 5 mins from Kashi Vishwanath temple.

Evening hours: 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Aarti Timings: 4:00 pm
